NEVER BE SORRY FOR FOLLOWING YOUR HEART
She saw him for the first time many months back during one of the parties organized for the freshers in her team. Started noticing him because of his occasional glances at her.
Once they met on their way to the office in a pool taxi. Didn't exchange a word but both knew they were interested in the other.
She saw him a lot during lunch breaks and parties. A few weeks ago she spotted him standing in front of her apartment, aimlessly. Her initial intentions of playing around and peeping took him right into her heart.
Now there is him everywhere around her. It is no more coincidence that they take breaks at the same time, travel in the same pool taxi and attend the same parties.
One day she saw him during a party, sitting few feet away and sipping drinks. He made the first word and offered to accompany her to the apartment.
He: Can I walk you to home?
She: No
He: No?!
She: Why?
He: Oh! There go your friends. Are you going with them?
She: No.
He: Then, can we speak?!
She: ...
He: Planning to take a cab?
She: No. It's hardly 3 km. I will walk
He: So, are you going to walk alone?
She: I guess.
He: Minds if I join?
She: No.
He: You are so beautiful and I like you.
She: What?! No!
He: You know, we've been checking out each other for quite long. What's wrong with dating me?
She: But... I think you are younger than me.
He: Is that a problem?
She: Not really but I'm sorry. It's my fault. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have encouraged you.
He: No. It's not your fault. (looking at her with dreamy eyes) you are so beautiful and your smile, I can't resist looking at you.
She: (blushing) Oh! Dear God. Please, no, don't look at me like that.
He: You can think about it and give me an answer. A 'YES'!
She: There's nothing to think, it's not possible.
He: Do you have a boyfriend?
She: Yes.
He: You are lying, please tell me you are lying.
She: No. I'm not. That's why I said there's nothing to think.
He: OK. But? OK.
She: Let me leave. I'll walk alone.
He: Yes. You are independent to leave, I'll not stop you.
She: Then what are you gonna do? Follow me?! Please, let's go together. Come with me.
He: OK.
She: How old are you?
He: I'm twenty-three. It's just two years difference.
She: (laughing) Yeah, two years! I'm twenty-five.
He: In case if you had no boyfriend, I would have tried.
She: ...
(Reached the apartment)
She: Bye then.
He: Bye. Nice meeting you.
She: Thank you. Nice meeting you too. Good night.
He: Goodnight.
(Walked away, both of them simultaneously turned back once, smiled and left).
She is goddamn attracted to him and she knew it.
She died inside without seeing him the next day. It followed for a week and there was no show. She had no courage even to find out what he was up to.
Later she saw him in the metro when he came and sat next to her.
He: (smiling, holding her hands) What's the answer? Can I take you out for coffee this evening?
She: (taken aback) Where have you been all these days? Why didn't you tell me?
He: (smiling) I was there around you. I've been seeing how you went crazy without seeing me each passing day.
She: (realizing the situation, pulling away her hand) What?! No, I wasn't.
He: Whatever. Coffee?
She: Can't you hear me? I'm already seeing someone and cannot accept the coffee. (But oh dear Lord, I'm so lost in love with you!)
He: Oh! I forget about that. I really hope that you are lying.
She: No. I'm not.
Later that night saw him in the office party. He was looking at her, lost and remorse.
She: (I just love him. OH! CRAP!!! I can't.)
Once again he offered to walk her to the apartment.
He: Let's be friends and there's nothing wrong with it.
She: OK.
So they walked through the streets, chatting endlessly and realizing how much their thoughts match. He dropped her at the apartment and left.
She spent the night contemplating how he makes her laugh easily.
She realized how people around are doing what they want and in life. Why does she have to uphold mundane traditions? Why should she waste her energy on the dead relation she's in, feeling trapped?
She met her boyfriend and ended everything. The word 'ended' masks all the torments she'd to go through in order to escape that relationship.
She took a transfer and left the place without telling anyone.

A note was left for him, which read:
Dear Abhay,Did I love you? Did I love him? I think I don't know. I don't know how it feels to love someone?Thank you for telling me that I'm beautiful, thank you for liking me. I like you and will always. Thank you for giving me the strength to break free, to rediscover me, thank you for coming into my life. After so many years, I feel the nature, breathe fresh air, listen to music and sleep peacefully without crying on my pillow contemplating about my worthless life as someone’s girlfriend. You are a small boy. I'll not complicate your life anymore. So I've to go.The right thing will happen at the right time in the right way.
Take care and love.
